Federal government ACH reclamations can be hard to process correctly. This 90-minute ACH government reclamations webinar explains how the Green Book adapts the Nacha Operating Rules for federal benefit payments, and where its exceptions apply.

Chapter 5 of the Green Book requires financial institutions to submit all reclamation responses through the Automated Reclamation Processing System (ARPS) on Treasury's Pay.gov portal, apart from DFAS responses and Treasury-approved exceptions. Remittances tied to reclamation responses are no longer accepted.

You'll learn how to handle Death Notification Entries (DNEs), return timeframes and reason codes for deceased account holders, and RDFI liability, with a side-by-side comparison of commercial and government reclamations and worked examples.

  • Explain how the Green Book's exceptions to the Nacha Operating Rules apply to federal payments
  • Submit reclamation responses through ARPS as Chapter 5 requires
  • Process DNEs and return entries for deceased account holders within the required timeframes
  • Select the correct return reason codes for benefit payments
  • Respond to federal government reclamations on time
  • Distinguish commercial from government reclamations and the RDFI's liability for each
